Considering the capability of different students in mind, the Educational Program is divided into three different categories, namely Academic group, Functional educational group and Special group, each catering to specific needs of every student.
The students undergo different types of therapies for their holistic growth and general well-being, starting with physiotherapy to aid mobility, followed by the occupational therapy for sensory and behavioural integration with immense attention being paid to speech therapy for effective communication.
With utmost importance given to independence be it physical, financial or emotional, vocational training is the major driving force of boosting confidence and inculcating a sense of responsibility. An extensive training in various areas such as stitching, cooking, handicraft, etc. is provided.
One of the major objectives of Umang is to spread awareness about the rights and abilities of people with disability in different communities and to work closely with the government for policy development and implementation.

With an experience of over 30 years in the social and public sector, Bina Kak is best known for her philanthropic contributions. Having headed various ministries in Rajasthan such as Women and Child, Tourism and Culture, Forest and Wildlife, she strongly believes in equality for all. It’s her perseverance that keeps us striving to get equal rights for persons with special needs.
Mrs. Deepak Kalra, a parent turned into a change maker is the founder and the soul of Umang. She has completely dedicated her life from past 35 years for the betterment and upliftment of individuals with special needs. Her sensitivity, passion, knowledge and hard work have changed lives of over 2000 individuals living with intellectual disability.
