With an experience of over 30 years in the social and public sector, Bina Kak is best known for her philanthropic contributions. Having headed various ministries in Rajasthan such as Women and Child, Tourism and Culture, Forest and Wildlife, she strongly believes in equality for all. It’s her perseverance that keeps us striving to get equal rights for persons with special needs.
Mrs. Deepak Kalra, a parent turned into a change maker is the founder and the soul of Umang. She has completely dedicated her life for the betterment and upliftment of the individuals with special needs after the birth of her son Vikram who has Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disability and Epilepsy. With 35 years of experience, her understanding of the issue and expertise has helped Umang reach great heights. Her sensitivity, passion, knowledge and hard work have changed lives of over 2000 individuals living with intellectual disability.
A Social Entrepreneur, also been a source of motivation as a member of Management Committee, Umang. Worked for over three decades with ITC Group of companies, but after the death of his uncle & his sister in the year 2005, he dedicated his life for upliftment of weaker sections of the society and founded the trust, Raghu Sinha Mala Mathur Charity Trust. His seriousness towards making a change in society plays a significant role.
A trained special educator she has been instrumental in starting several special schools for children of navy personnel during her tenure as first lady. Working as the senior consultant at Umang, Mrs Singh embodies the compassion and experience to be an exceptional teacher and an even better mentor.
The vocational training unit at Umang, which is one of its kind is the brain child of Ms. Pramila Jain. With an experience of over 21 years, she is the head of the vocational training unit and we take pride in telling that the unit ranks among the top 10 in the country, owing it all to her experience and able guidance.
Dr. Srivastava has been recognized as one of the most qualified people in the field of inclusive education in Rajasthan. After completing her diploma in special education from the renowned Spastic Society of Northern India (AADI), Delhi, she went on to further do her masters in inclusive education from UK and PHD in special education from Netherlands. She has over 23 years of experience and heads the B.Ed program, mentors staff and runs the inclusive education cell.
Sharmila Sankhla is our all-rounder, from PR to fundraising, we’ve always got her back. Did we mention, this super mom, is a self trained language trainer? Having been associated with us for over 16 years now, she’s an inspiration to so many mothers.
Trained special educator with 23 years of experience, she is the coordinator of the special groups reaching out to the most severely challenged. Strongly believing in holistic development, she also teaches dance, art and craft at Umang.
Head of the administrative department, Mr. Bhanwar Lal is the go to person for literally everything at Umang. He has so flawlessly managed everything since the very beginning that we don’t even know what it would be like without having him around. He teaches us selflessness and reliability every single day.
